Child & Adolescent Therapy
Mentalization-Based · Trauma-Informed · CBT, DBT & ERP-Informed

Therapy with Kyle begins with the young person in context: their development, relationships, identity, family system, and the environments shaping their experience.
Kyle works with children and adolescents facing complex emotional, behavioral, and relational concerns, including difficulties that have not improved through conventional or symptom-focused treatment.
What to Expect
Sessions are active, collaborative, and tailored to the young person's age, personality, and developmental needs.
Through conversation, structured activities, play, or creative expression, young people learn to better understand their emotions, communicate more clearly, and respond with greater flexibility during moments of distress or conflict.
Treatment also considers the family, school, peer, and social dynamics influencing the young person's wellbeing.
Who This Is For
- Anxiety, intrusive thoughts, or OCD
- Emotional intensity, impulsivity, or aggression
- Emerging personality and relational difficulties
- Self-harm or suicidal thinking when outpatient care is appropriate
- Trauma, identity concerns, or minority stress
- School refusal, substance use, or recurring family conflict
- Concerns that have not improved through previous treatment
How Parents Are Involved
Parents and caregivers are important partners in treatment.
Their involvement is tailored to the young person's age, safety, and treatment goals, while protecting the privacy necessary for honest therapeutic work. Kyle helps families understand what may be happening beneath the behavior and respond in ways that support stability, accountability, and growing independence.
Our Approach
Kyle holds specialized training in Mentalization-Based Treatment for Children and Adolescents.
Treatment is trauma-informed, person-centered, and informed by CBT, DBT, and ERP principles. The work combines psychological depth with practical strategies for emotional regulation, anxiety, behavior change, and stronger family relationships.
When helpful, Kyle coordinates with psychiatrists, schools, educational consultants, coaches, and other providers to create a clear and cohesive plan of care.
Scope of Care
Kyle works with complex and elevated-risk presentations when scheduled outpatient treatment is clinically appropriate.
The practice does not provide emergency or crisis-response services. In the United States, call 911 for immediate danger or call or text 988 for emotional distress or a mental health or substance-use crisis.
