Relationship Therapy

Two complementary chairs arranged for conversation in soft daylight

Relationship therapy with Kyle helps partners understand what is happening beneath recurring conflict, distance, and disconnection.

The work focuses on the assumptions, emotions, and protective responses that shape how each person experiences the relationship. Rather than reducing conflict to communication failure alone, therapy examines what happens when certainty replaces curiosity and both partners lose sight of the other's inner world.

What to Expect

Sessions are direct, collaborative, and focused on the relationship as it unfolds in real time.

Kyle helps partners slow down reactive moments, identify the meanings driving conflict, and understand how each person's history, expectations, and vulnerabilities shape the interaction. The aim is not simply to argue more effectively, but to create greater clarity, accountability, and emotional responsiveness.

Who This Is For

  • Recurring conflict or communication breakdowns
  • Emotional distance, disconnection, or loss of intimacy
  • Betrayal, infidelity, or difficulty rebuilding trust
  • Relationships affected by personality or emotional regulation difficulties
  • Co-parenting strain, separation, or major life transitions
  • Differences in power, identity, culture, or role expectations
  • LGBTQIA+ couples and partners across orientations and relationship structures

Our Approach

Kyle's work is grounded in Mentalization-Based Treatment, which helps partners remain curious about one another even when conflict makes assumptions feel certain.

The approach is trauma-informed, person-centered, LGBTQIA+ affirming, and attentive to power, autonomy, identity, and the broader context shaping the relationship.

Rather than relying on scripted communication techniques, the work strengthens each partner's capacity to reflect, repair, and respond with greater intention. The goal is not to eliminate disagreement. It is to help partners understand what pulls them apart and develop a more stable way of finding their way back.

Scope of Care

Relationship therapy is provided within a scheduled outpatient setting and does not replace emergency, crisis, or domestic violence services.

When safety, coercion, or intimate partner violence is present, the appropriateness of conjoint therapy is carefully assessed before treatment begins.

Relationship therapy with Kyle helps partners understand what happens beneath conflict and build a more reflective way forward.
